OBJECTIVE:
To summarize the major events in the establishment of the Thirteen Colonies.

TIME:
2 class periods

Class members begin the lesson by reading a summary of the major events in the founding of the Thirteen Colonies. The summary includes sections with information about each colony. Students are given time to underline or highlight key words, names, terms, and ideas. This information is used during the playing of two JEOPARDY games. 

Game 1 categories are PLACES, FAMOUS PEOPLE, COUNTRIES, COLONIES, and ODDS AND ENDS. Game 2 categories are GROUPS OF PEOPLE, CITIES AND TOWNS, COLONIES, KINGS AND LEADERS, ODDS and ENDS.

Easy-to-follow Teacher Instructions and answer key included, along with a 20-question follow up quiz to measure student progress. The quiz can also be given as a homework assignment.
